David Pogue - iPhone: The Music Video

David Pogue of The New York Times is doing some funny piece of works lately, who could forget "My iPhone diary"?. I'm sure it's not all his doing, he's got a technical stuff behind and it's not like being a independent blogger, but it's fair enough, at least at the NYT they're moving to the right direction. Something I can't say about Italian television at all, a part from Marco Montemagno's efforts I didn't find anybody who takes the web seriously and understand how it works.
I also appreciated the "No right reserved" at the end of the video, very acute irony.

Interesting and fairly well done, but it's certainly out of my realm. When I see people like the ones depicted in the video it reminds me of fanatical people waiting in line for the newest Elmo doll or tickets to some concert for a band that doesn't really play that well and should have quit years ago. Something I just don't understand. Possibly because the iPhone doesn't interest me in the least.
Even though I depend on my computer and e-mail every day for my business and personal life I have no need for a PDA. I don't have a cell phone and hope to never have one and as matter of fact I use antique phones in my home and some of them don't even have dials! I seem to be somewhat of a dinosaur of sorts in this hi-tech world, but I'm not completely tech-ignorant as I choose my technology carefully.
I'm not the first to jump on the bandwagon and sometimes I don't jump at all. I live on a need to know or a need to use basis. If I don't need it, I don't have it and in some cases it's more fun to be "out-of-sink" with the rest of the world as long as I can laugh along with them rather than being clueless.
Well, enjoy your iPhone, until it's outdated and replaced by the next new thing. Meanwhile, I'll still be talking on my 70 and 80 year old phones that have worked just fine for nearly a century and may still be working long after I'm gone.
