I just saw it.

To be perfectly honest I think it has lost that type of alchemy that the original video had. The idea is very nice, but it wasn't very well handled, IMHO. I enjoyed much more MadV and zefrank's creations.

It's the same concept, a message from the community, from people all over the World, unified by a personality other than a message. I feel that the aforementioned videos were much more effective than this one. Kind of a disappointment. She looks a bit fake with all that makeup, and somewhat distant to the people that appear on video, plus the original version had more emotion, more passion involved.

IMHO.

I would also agree with you

I would also agree with you on this one and add that the original video she did was the accoustic one of the song and displayed what I feel was more emotion and nearly brought a tear to my eye as this new slicker version didn't evoke the same feelings. There were more ordinary people in the first one and less of Naomi giving the piece more of the "message from the community" as you mentioned.
To be honest, I was expecting a lot more of that sort of imagery than the original video as she had put out a call for more personal video clips (I was going to submit one, but never got around to it), but instead she had less of them and even used some of the same ones from the original or new clips from the same people. In her opening statement she mentioned getting more clips than expected and in my opinion did what seems to be a lazy cop-out and only having a few in the final piece.
It is somewhat disappointing as well with her choice of the added instrumentation. The song now has a more "flowery" tone to it and as it may sound more profesional it lost the emotion that I mentioned earlier and to be frank - I still like your (Federico) version the best. It has just enough of an added sound to not overwhelm the guitar, but add to it or as you state - Make it more "complete".

Well, I think she should have taken one of our versions, many people beside me did a very good job, or at least a modified one. The point is: I though she would have used some of us playing along with her, now THAT would have been something really different, revolutionary, in a sense.

At least that's what I thought she would have done.

Having the others playing

Having the others playing along with her - I didn't think of that. That would have been different, but probably difficult to pull off successfully. I thought that maybe she could have had herself in the beginning and at the end with the rest showing only those that submitted video's with maybe a long instrumental section in the middle to be able to add more video segments or just a longer version of the song. Basically, there could have been numerous other ways to get the effect we were thinking she could have done.

Yesterday I showed a close

Yesterday I showed a close friend of mine 4 of Terra's versions of "Say It's Possible". He's a drummer and has been in numerous local bands for many years and is very much into the indie scene with his own record company. I showed him the beginning of the original acoustic one Terra did, the first version with the people holding up signs, then the latest version she did with the people holding up the signs and lastly the one you played on.

He agreed with me that you and the drum track from Andy One was the best version. He didn't care for the too "professional" sound of her latest song, but the simple clean nature of the one you played. When he and his band mates write their songs they try to get real emotion and spirit into the work. I think that with Terra's latest attempt she lost the spirit of the original acoustic version or the first one with the people and their signs.

Thanks again for the cool version of the song! (b^_^)b
