Banks will die, I for one welcome our new Zopa overlord

Wikipedia says:

Zopa is a UK-based company providing an online money exchange, allowing people who have money to lend to provide it directly to people wanting to borrow it without the need to go through banks, a process sometimes referred to as peer-to-peer lending.

You can check out the details in the original article. What I really want to emphasize is how the World is changing, with the Web, with the 2.0 revolution. Web 2.0 is not only about tags and cryptic buzzwords, it's much more then that. It's changing the way w think and we act, in real life, not just virtually. It's about democratising the World, the business model is changing, the concept of how do we live our lives is changing.

As soon as Beppe Grillo saw this, he wanted to port it to Italy, to overcome the rotten Italian banking system. Unfortunately the Italian law says that if you want to borrow some money, you have to pass through a loan shark, otherwise it's illegal. Pretty strange country, isn't it?
